Fell off the ol’ bassoon wagon big time. I think I must have soaked the same three pieces of cane about four times. For multiple days. Yikes. I kept forgetting to come back to them. My reed-making mojo has been suffering since the summer. I don’t think I’ve had a reed I was happy about since that audition.
All the same, it’s been nice to think about something else for a spell. I’m finally feeling like it’s time to get back in the saddle, and looking forward to it. I am unfortunately back on the fence a bit about pursuing that master’s degree, but am hoping to snap out of it once work kicks back up and I hear how much my playing has slipped over vacation. Heheh.<
